Folkparken Skellefteå turns 100 – Family Day!
Folkparken Skellefteå is turning 100! We want to celebrate with a family day, and we hope you want to be part of the celebration!
1926 was the year that Skellefteå Folkets hus association was formed. Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, and Folkets hus has since moved a number of times to land at its current location on Mossgatan in Skellefteå, where space was also made for a Folkpark.
The house has been and still is the place for many different pleasant events, an active association life and important democratic discussions.
Many dance steps have been taken within the walls of Folkets hus and on the surfaces of Folkparken and many great artists have stood on Folkets hus and Folkparken's stage, from ABBA to Muhammed Ali to Carola, and Folkets hus Skellefteå is often referred to by many of our guests as Sweden's most beautiful Folkets hus. The need for a Folkets hus is as great today as it was 100 years ago and Folkets hus is still the place where people dance, play music and discuss. 100 years of course needs to be celebrated, and we want to do that with a cozy family day together with you! In the evening, we continue the celebration with a country evening (see separate event). We open the gates to the family day at 11 am and keep the area open until 5 pm. We hope for great fellowship and a wonderful day with lots of different activities such as rabbit collecting, fire show with the Exploratorium, tip walk (with great prizes!), bouncy castle, face painting, music and other fun!
